Pope Francis I

Pope Francis I was elected on the March 13, 2013. He is not only the first Jesuit Pope to be elected, but he is also the first Pope elected from the Americas. As the new Pope, he has already began to make significant changes to the Papacy, the office of the Pope. Pope Francis has chosen to live a life as a servant and is attempting to give the Church a more humble image. Renovations are already being made for the apartment in the Vatican were Popes have been living for the last 600 years. These renovations will make the apartment  much smaller in order to aid Pope Francis' mission to be a humble servant of God.
